Service · Build
Custom WordPress themes and block libraries built for your content, your editors, and your performance targets. No bloated page builders, and no theme you will outgrow in a year.

Overview
WordPress powers a large share of the web for good reasons: it is flexible, editors already know it, and your content is not locked into anyone's proprietary system. Most WordPress complaints we hear are not really about the platform. They come from a purchased theme stretched past its limits, a page builder generating heavy markup, and thirty plugins doing work that a few lines of code would handle.
We build custom themes from your design system, with editor-friendly Gutenberg blocks or ACF-powered components that match your page patterns exactly. Editors get the flexibility they need inside guardrails that keep pages on brand. Developers get clean, version-controlled code. Visitors get fast pages, because each template only loads what it needs.
Our WordPress work covers new builds, migrations from Squarespace, Wix, Drupal, or aging WordPress installs, multisite networks, and ongoing care. Custom WordPress marketing sites typically land between $18,000 and $60,000 including design. Migrations without a redesign often run $8,000 to $25,000 depending on content volume and URL complexity. Many of our Chicago clients are professional services firms, real estate groups, and regulated businesses that need a dependable review workflow as much as a good-looking homepage.
Business problems we solve
Visual builders make the first version quick and every version after it slower. You end up with bloated markup, dozens of scripts, and layouts that break when someone nudges a column.
When one wrong click wrecks a layout, updates stall or get routed through a developer. Content goes stale because publishing feels risky.
Every abandoned plugin is a potential vulnerability and another reason updates get skipped. Eventually the site runs on an old PHP version and nobody wants to be the one who clicks update.
Financial, healthcare, and legal teams need drafts, approvals, and a record of what changed. Out-of-the-box WordPress does not enforce any of that.

FAQ
Not for new builds. They can be fine for small sites, but for a business site that is edited weekly and maintained for years, custom blocks give editors the same convenience with far less weight and far fewer things to break. If you are on a builder now, we can migrate you off it.
That is the main risk in any migration, and we treat it as one. We crawl the existing site, map every indexed URL to its new home, preserve metadata, and watch Search Console closely for several weeks after launch. Rankings generally hold when redirects and content parity are handled properly.
For most business sites, a managed WordPress host such as WP Engine or Kinsta is the right call, since staging, backups, and server-level caching come standard. We set up the account in your name and configure it. We steer clients away from bargain shared hosting for any site that generates leads.
As few as possible. Our custom builds usually rely on a short list of well-maintained plugins for forms, SEO, custom fields, caching, and security, plus whatever specific integrations you need. Everything else lives in the theme, where we control the code.
Yes. Care plans cover core and plugin updates tested on staging, uptime and security monitoring, backups, and a monthly block of development time. Most plans run $500 to $2,500 per month depending on site size and how much new work you want included.
Often, yes. We start with an audit and are candid when a cleanup will get you most of the way. A rebuild makes sense when the theme itself is the problem or the design no longer fits the business.
